Scientific Biography

Cell & molecular biology.

I am a cell and molecular biologist with research experience across Ireland, France and Germany.

My work has moved from cellular stress and redox biology to extracellular vesicles, endothelial ageing and senescence, proteomics and quantitative functional assays.

What interests me most is experimental biology that links mechanism to a measurable biological effect.

Current Status

Based in Paris, France. Open to research scientist, postdoctoral and translational biomedical R&D opportunities.

Postgraduate Foundations

Ireland.

Postgraduate training in Ireland established the experimental foundation of my research career.

After completing a BSc in Life Sciences at the University of Delhi, I moved to the University of Galway for an MSc in Neuropharmacology.

Research in Galway introduced me to redox protein biology, cellular stress and mitochondrial mechanisms, and gave me my first sustained experience of experimental biomedical research.

Extracellular Vesicles

From basic biology to translational research.

Industry-linked research introduced extracellular vesicles as both biological communication systems and potential delivery platforms.

Work with OmniSpirant Therapeutics broadened my interest from intracellular mechanisms to how biological material moves between cells and how delivery systems can be evaluated experimentally.

Doctoral Research · France & Germany

Ageing, senescence & extracellular vesicles.

My Marie Skłodowska-Curie TiCardio PhD connected endothelial ageing and cellular senescence with extracellular-vesicle-mediated communication.

The international cotutelle between Aix-Marseille Université and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz combined experimental cell biology with cardiovascular research and molecular profiling. A secondment at ISAS Dortmund added quantitative proteomics to the project.

Doctoral research details

Postdoctoral Research · Paris

Quantitative functional cell biology.

My postdoctoral work shifted the emphasis from observing delivery to testing whether delivery produced measurable function.

During my fixed-term appointment in the Lavieu Lab at Université Paris Cité, I worked with mammalian cell-based systems for evaluating functional cargo delivery.

My work focused on optimisation and standardisation of reporter-based functional assays, transfection optimisation, experimental controls, quantitative analysis, reproducibility and structured troubleshooting.

How I Work

Mechanism, controls & reproducibility.

I prefer experiments built around a clear biological question, appropriate controls and a readout that supports a defensible interpretation.

That approach has become increasingly important to me across cell biology, extracellular-vesicle research and quantitative assay work.

Future Direction

Biomedical R&D.

I want to continue in research environments that combine rigorous cell and molecular biology with quantitative experimentation and technology development.

Areas I would like to develop further include ageing biology, immunology of ageing and disease, advanced cell-based systems, molecular profiling, quantitative imaging and analytical tools that improve biological decision-making.

Longer term, I am interested in how this type of research can contribute to therapeutics, diagnostics and other biomedical technologies.

Outreach, mentoring & Gene & Tonic.

Alongside research, I have taken part in science outreach, researcher representation, mentoring and community activities.

In Paris, I co-founded Gene & Tonic Cité, an informal Life Sciences and Medicine community at CIUP.

Outside the Laboratory

International life beyond research.

Living and working in several countries has made international and multicultural environments a normal part of how I work and collaborate.

I enjoy travelling, discovering new places and cultures, playing guitar and spending time outdoors.
